We believe in good coffee

Our mission is to introduce you to Speciality Coffee - the top taste grading - with new flavours and coffees from coffee producing countries from around the world. Then we select the absolute cream from the UK's 300+ expert roasters who lovingly extract the maximum flavour from every bean.

Protecting the environment

Coffee pods are destroying the environment. In the UK, it is estimated that these 1000 tons of coffee pods went into landfill last year. And, it's growing. Another report states that 39,000 capsules are made per minute, worldwide and that 29,000 are thrown away - every minute.

Why ethical coffee matters

Coffee is generally traded through stock exchanges and the farmers are paid very little. Our coffees are ethically sourced directly from farmers and local cooperatives. Through the Direct Trade model, these farmers are paid around 30% more than the Fairtrade price. That enables them to support their families and to invest in sustainable farming and the future.

The Blue Coffee Box story

Experienced business owner Jon (Dad) was excited by the speciality coffee subscription model during his business travels in the USA. Combined with Harvey's (Son) passion for coffee, they saw a gap in the UK market.

Blue Coffee Box is born

Harvey, during his A-levels, wanted a way to avoid university debt. After discussing with dad, Blue Coffee Box was born, operating from the spare bedroom at home.

Growing the business

The business met its three main goals: a commitment to ethical sourcing of specialty coffee, breaking even, and supporting Harvey’s university fees. This is also the year that Blue Tea Box was born.

Commitment to sustainability

To further reduce their environmental impact, Blue Coffee Box introduced the EcoBag and EcoPack. This packaging pioneered sustainability, experimenting with home-compostable, plastic-free bags and reducing cardboard use by 58%.

A fresh new look

As demand grew, Blue Coffee Box invested in custom-designed packaging and a refreshed website to better showcase their premium, ethically sourced coffees and teas.
