Just like you, we are coffee lovers. Great coffee is like great wine or champagne. With the right climate, altitude, soil, landscape, processing and storing, the taste can be quite amazing. Once your taste buds have experienced gourmet coffee, they won't want anything else.
But, despite the popularity of the ever-expanding coffee shop chains, much of the coffee we are made to drink at home or at work in the UK is tasteless. Roughly two-thirds of our coffee is instant where, in other countries, it's mostly beans or filter.
For our filter coffee, we tend to buy from supermarkets. It is often low quality and almost always stale as, once roasted, coffee beans have a limited shelf life. And, as soon as they are ground, that process speeds up dramatically.
It does not need to be that way. No longer does fabulous coffee need to be a treat when you stumble across a local barista.
Our mission is to introduce you to Speciality Coffee - the top taste grading - with new flavours and coffees from coffee producing countries from around the world. Then we select the absolute cream from the UK's 300+ expert roasters who lovingly extract the maximum flavour from every bean.
The Blue Coffee Box experience is unique and your support is hugely appreciated. We seriously care about you and your opinions. Our customer service levels are second to none. So, if there is ever anything you need help with or if you have any feedback or advice for us, please, please let us know.
We are Harvey, Jon and the team and we welcome you to Blue Coffee Box.
You've never tasted coffee this good™ :-)
Best,
Harvey Butt – Founder
It's more than just the taste.
Coffee pods are destroying the environment. In the UK, it is estimated that these 1000 tons of coffee pods went into landfill last year. And, it's growing. Another report states that 39,000 capsules are made per minute, worldwide and that 29,000 are thrown away - every minute.
We'd like everyone to stop using coffee pods and disposable coffee cups. It's very easy to make fabulous coffee without a serious impact on our natural world.

Coffee is generally traded through stock exchanges and the farmers are paid very little. Commodity coffee favours the middlemen traders. Fairtrade coffee is an improvement but still not perfect.
Our coffees are ethically sourced directly from farmers and local cooperatives. Through the Direct Trade model, these farmers are paid around 30% more than the Fairtrade price. That enables them to support their families and to invest in sustainable farming and the future.
Every box is top quality curated for your personal tastes and preferences and delivered fresh to your door with notes.
We introduce you to coffee varieties, countries, regions, and roasters you are unlikely to find in a supermarket.
Dealing direct with farmers and co-operatives creates a sustainable farming future for families and producers.
